Why now?
The airport’s operational capacity has reached its limits, especially at peak times. Without the modernisation, we will lose connections to the world and business opportunities, and we cannot reduce noise pollution. The nearby airports are developing and we cannot stand still.
Who is paying for the modernisation?
Prague Airport from its own or commercial resources.
Does it mean more noise?
On the contrary, the objective is to reduce noise over densely populated parts of Prague and Kladno and to ensure night curfew. All this is only possible with a parallel runway.
Will the number of aircraft increase?
Not dramatically, the objective is better operations, not uncontrolled growth.
Will the airport be operational during the modernisation?
Yes, throughout the work. Unfortunately, we cannot avoid partial limitations on the comfort of passengers and workers at the airport.
