BENEFITS FOR OUR COUNTRY
AND AIRPORT’S
VICINITY
What is the main benefit?
No prosperous economy in the world, not even the Czech, can do without a modern international airport and an efficiently working network of air connections.
The operation of the airport contributes significantly to the growth of the Czech economy and national wealth. The development of the airport will support the influx of foreign investment and business opportunities. The surrounding airports are being developed. Prague Airport will only remain competitive in the future thanks to its further development, modernisation, and digitization.

BENEFITS FOR PRAGUE
AND CENTRAL BOHEMIAN REGION
In addition to a network of direct connections, the modernised airport will also provide job opportunities. Other advantages comprise the Airport City, which will be full of services for the area residents, the runway system consisting of two parallel runways reducing the noise burden for the densely populated parts of Prague and Kladno, and the airport night closure.
The Municipalities of Prague 5 and 6 and the Lidický stream microregion have expressed their support for the development of Václav Havel Airport Prague by signing a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.
We Will Completely Halt Operations
Over Densely Populated
Areas of Prague and Kladno
To ensure safe and smooth operations, Prague Airport needs two runways. It must therefore actively use the runway designated RWY 06/24, as well as RWY 12/30. However, the axis of RWY 12/30 runs directly over densely populated parts of Prague and Kladno, creating excessive noise pollution for hundreds of thousands of residents. In 2018, part of the airport’s traffic was directed to RWY 12/30 on a total of 289 days, including 39 days of full-day and night-long operation.
The construction of a parallel runway will make it possible to completely close the secondary RWY 12/30, providing relief to approximately 200,000 residents of large urban areas.
WE WILL SUPPORT THE RESTART
OF THE CZECH ECONOMY
AND PROSPERITY
No prosperous economy in the world — including the Czech one — can function without a modern international airport and an efficiently operating network of air connections. The development of the airport will boost foreign investment and business opportunities.
